Discovery
1895. 11. 8. W.C Roentgen, on November 8 1895, confirmed generation of fluorescence by unknown ray during experiment using closed-off cathode tube. He called this X-ray and presented thesis on December 8, 1895. This granted him the 1st Nobel Prize for Physics in 1901.
Actions of X-Ray
Physical action : Excitement, ionization, exothermic and fluorescent action
Chemical action : If ionization or excitement results due to the high speed electron   produced by the X-ray, then chemical change many occur.
Physical, chemical action : X-ray which is similar to visible ray has photographic effect on photosensitizer. Accordingly, it is used in generating image of internal structure of human body on film and in measurement of dose with its chromatic effect.
Biological Action : May be the causes of acceleration of aging and genetic disabilities due to tardive effect that manifests after prolonged period of latent period in addition to other acute effect including skin erythema and ulceration. It is used in radiation treatment of malignant tumor.
